I’m sorry but I don’t think I wrote in the first entry what I’m doing here. I’m in Burkina Faso to do my master thesis. I got a scholarship from the Swedish International Development Agency Sida, bad name in French speaking countries (means Aids in French), to do it in a developing country. So this is the reason for my trip to Burkina Faso. For the ones interested; I'm going to do a hydrological investigation, which means that I try to estimate the water resources available in a catchment area (in this case for a river). This is a common procedure when building dams to find out how much water that could be stored and how much power you could get out of a power station.
This weekend I met up with some volunteers that are working here in Ouaga, we decided to go to the pool together this Saturday. It was really nice to hang out with them and to get to know some people that are going to be here for a while. They are leaving in May-June somewhere so I get the chance to hang out with them when I return to Ouagadougou. Because tomorrow I’m moving to Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina’s second biggest city, a name that my guide book think is like a name taken from one of the star wars movies. I can’t disagree; maybe it’s the name of a galaxy far far away. I’m not going to have as fast internet over there as here so we will see how much I can update the blog. Hopefully without problems in terms of adding text, but it could be hard to add pictures.
